Computational Wire-bending
Craft practices and societies are disappearing due to dying knowledges and changing practices. The Situated Computational Design Lab bridges the gap between craft and computational cultures by revealing how they contribute to each other. In this project we ask, what new design expressions, tools, and methodologies might emerge when we study the traditional and culturally embedded making practices of wire-bending from the Trinidad Carnival through the lens of computational design?
