The Infinite Line Active-Bending Pavilion
The Situated Computational Design Lab investigates how we combine techniques in traditional craft practices with computation and material behavior for the design, assembly, and transport of active structures. In this project we ask the question, how might we employ computational design and engineering in the creation of active bending structures while acknowledging other cultures and forms of making not driven by digital technology? We exhibited our pavilion in October 2019 at the International Association of Shell and Spatial Structures (IASS) symposium in Barcelona, Spain.
